Cedars-Sinai Honors Dr. Stephan R. Targan
Wife of the Party had the privilege of producing and coordinating a heartfelt retirement celebration honoring Dr. Stephan R. Targan of Cedars-Sinai, hosted at the Waldorf Astoria Beverly Hills. The evening brought together colleagues, family, and longtime friends to celebrate an extraordinary career and a legacy of leadership, research, and innovation.
Guests were welcomed into an elegant ballroom designed with a rich black-and-gold palette, accented by bold red florals that added depth and sophistication. Lush arrangements of red roses, dahlias, and amaranthuses filled the tables, adding an ambience of timeless luxury. Customized menus and delicious gold-wrapped chocolate favors sat atop folded champagne linens at each place setting, created a clean, luxe tablescape.
A dramatic mirror seating chart with hand-lettered calligraphy served as a beautiful focal point and guided guests into the dinner with style. It paired perfectly with the floral installation at its base, tying the entrance seamlessly into the design of the dining room.
The program began with live music, featuring a jazz ensemble that set the tone with classic, inviting energy. Onstage, a large LED backdrop framed heartfelt speeches celebrating Dr. Targan’s decades of service and mentorship. The atmosphere was warm and lively, providing a true reflection of the admiration the community holds for him.
Throughout dinner, guests enjoyed a curated multi-course menu and raised glasses to Dr. Targan’s achievements. The crowd’s emotional reactions highlighted the impact he has had not only in medicine, but in the lives of those around him.
A photo booth allowed guests to capture the evening in a more relaxed way, with Dr. Targan sharing laughs and playful moments with colleagues who have become family over the years. These portraits became some of the night’s most cherished keepsakes.
This celebration was a meaningful collaboration between Cedars-Sinai, Dr. Targan’s team, and Wife of the Party, and it was a true honor to produce. It was an unforgettable evening for a remarkable career.
